Smoking is absolutely not allowed in our accommodations!

Barbecue is due to fire hazard on the porch strictly prohibited. However, it is allowed to use a barbecue outside, next to or in front of the veranda. In the unlikely event that something goes wrong, there is a fire extinguisher in the chalet.

We expect you to treat our belongings with care, if nevertheless something breaks in the crockery or glassware, we kindly ask you to replace it, so that our next guests also experience a pleasant stay. Please do not remove the mattress protectors over the mattresses, in the unlikely event that something happens, please machine wash at a low temperature.

We recommend that you leave the screens in front of the window openings at night so that you do not suffer from insects.

Camping International

Mini Supermarket Ortalli:

This is open in high season. Fresh rolls in the morning, coffee at the coffee bar. Small terrace and sweet pastries and ice cream.

Swimming pool:

It is open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM from the beginning of June to the beginning of September. At the entrance it is mandatory to show the swimming pool bracelet to the lifeguard so that you can enter the swimming pool for free. You will receive these bracelets at the reception upon check-in.

Pizza Pinguino:

It is open daily in high season from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 18:00 to 01:00. In the early and late season, the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays. You can also pick up.

Sports courts:

You can collect the keys at the reception of the campsite (for a fee).

Animation:

During the school holidays there is children's entertainment at the campsite and at the beginning of the evening there is a children's disco. Check the program at the reception for the exact times.

Playground:

At the start of the campsite just after the barriers, with play equipment and trampolines for the children.

Port:

You need a permit to sail on Lake Lugano with a motorboat. For more information, please contact the reception.

Washing machines / Tumble dryers:

You need a token to use the washing machines and tumble dryers. You can buy these at the reception.

There is also a launderette with large drums on Via Prati in Porlezza.

Wi-Fi:

At the reception you can purchase WiFi vouchers for a fee (there are many free WiFi points in the immediate vicinity, use them!) It is often cheaper to use your own bundle.

Garbage

With immediate effect in Porlezza it is mandatory to separate waste into 5 categories.

 

• Humid (in biodegradable bags)

• Glass (no bags)

• Paper (no bags)

• Plastic/aluminum/metal (yellow bags and the material must be cleaned)

• Dry (grey semi-transparent bags)

Important: It is prohibited to use black waste bags.

All waste bags are available in supermarkets.

 

From now on we still have 1 waste point on the campsite. See attachment below for location.

We kindly ask you to close the waste bags properly.

At Rent E-bike Porlezza (next to the flower shop on the edge of the village) you can rent electric all-terrain bikes. From Porlezza you can actually go in all directions. a.o. to Mennagio on Lake Como or into the mountains. Or to the viewpoint on Monte Sighignola.

Markets

Lugano

The Lugano market offers the typical products of small farmers who sell their products directly. The market takes place in the center of the city and can be reached by all means of public transport. The Lugano market takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Piazza della Riforma: flowers, fruits and vegetables, antiques and handicrafts. District Via Vegezzi & Via Soave: flowers, fruits and vegetables.

Milan
You can also visit the interesting markets in Milan where you can buy everything for a sale price. There is always a lot of shouting in these markets, but it's all worth seeing. Going to markets is the best way to meet people and have a
get to know the other side of Milan. We do recommend that you pay in cash here.

Mercatone Naviglio Grande
Takes place every last Sunday of the month and starts in September. You will find it along the Alzaia Naviglio Grande. It is an antique market where they sell furniture, objects for the home, old books, jewelry, etc. The market has 400 exhibitors, some of them have their own shops on the Naviglio Grande.

Fiera di Sinigaglia
You can find everything here: Indian, South American and African handicrafts, new and second hand clothes, old furniture, perfume, candles, books, videos and DVDs.

Via Papiniano
Tents with brands and outlets. It is very popular and you will find plenty of food, plants, clothing, shoes and textiles.

Viale Fauch
Very much appreciated by the fashionistas. Here you can find cheap clothes and shoes from the greatest Italian stylists.

Luino

The old historic center of Luino is located on the lake side of Lake Maggiore. In addition to a small nostalgic fishing port, the place also has a large marina. There is quite a bit of industry around Luino. Among other things, a lot of textiles are produced.

Things to do

 

Porlezza:

Porlezza consists of a number of charming shopping streets with nice restaurants, not to mention delicious gelaterias! The area is extremely suitable for hiking or cycling trips. There is a general market on Saturdays along the boulevard. In high season there is an arts and crafts market around the church in the center on Tuesday evenings.

Lugano:

Is beautifully situated on Lake Lugano with a beautiful extensive boulevard. The city itself is built against the hills / mountains: you will also find a separate train that takes you from the lower city to the higher Central Station. Lugano is primarily a shopping city: beautiful expensive things in abundance!

Milan:

Accessible 90 kilometers from the campsite via the highway or the beautiful route along the water and the mountains. Tip, park the car at San Siro stadium (FC Milan stadium), then take the metro to the center (parking and metro are cheap). From Lugano you can also easily travel to Milan by train.

Ponte nel Cielo:

The "Ponte nel cielo" is the longest Tibetan hanging bug in Europe. The Ponte nel cielo is open daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. A ticket costs € 5 and children up to 14 years get free entry. You will find the ticket office in Campo Tartano and from there it is about a ten minute walk to the bridge. Click here for the route. More information can be found at pustaresc.org.

Lago di Como:

Lake Como has many beautiful and cozy villages including Menaggio and Bellagio, which is also called the Pearl of Lake Como, and of course the city of Como. It is possible to visit different places by boat. Almost every village has a boarding point for this.

Villa Carlota:

Villa Carlotta owes its name to its last owner, Princess Carlotta, who received the villa in 1843 from her mother Princess Marianna of Nassau as a wedding present.
The Villa was built at the end of the 17th century and is known for its beautifully landscaped gardens. You can visit the gardens together with the Villa which is now a Museum. Click here for the route.

Lago Maggiore:

Located an hour drive from the campsite. This is a wonderful area where there is a very large leather and goods market every Wednesday.

Monte Bré:

Monte Bré is 785 meters high. You can go up steeply with a train to reach the top to enjoy a nice view. Here you will find, among other things, a restaurant, hiking and mountain biking trails. Click here for the route.

Monte Sighignola (the balcony of Italy):

The Monte Sighignola is 1302 meters high and is also called the balcony of Italy.

You can reach the top of the mountain by car via a beautiful route of about 45 minutes. In addition to a great view, there is a restaurant/bar. Click here for the route.

Monte Generoso:

Monte Generoso is 1704 meters high and is said to have the most beautiful 360 degree view of Ticino. With a train you can reach the top of the mountain. When it is clear you can see 3 lakes (Lago di Lugano, Lago di Como and Lago Maggiore). The journey takes 40 minutes. Click here for the route.

Monte San Salvatore:

The Monte San Salvatore is 912 meters high. Every half hour you can take a train up to the top of the mountain. Here you will find a church with a roof terrace with a 360 degree view. There is also a playground, restaurant, self-service restaurant, hiking trails and a museum. Click here for the route.

Valle Verzasca:

The Valle Verzasca is a valley located north of Lake Maggiore, near Locarno, with depths of up to 2500 meters and a length of 25 kilometers. The most famous swimming and sunbathing spot in the valley is close to the Roman bridge Ponte dei Salti, click here for the route. You can also practice sports such as diving and bungee jumping in the valley.

Monte Tamaro:

Monte Tamaro is a “sporty mountain”. You go up via a cable car. Once you arrive at the top you will find:

The longest Tyrolean track in Switzerland (440 meters), a toboggan run of 800 meters long, an adventure park with a playground. Mountain bike trails, paragliding, Santa Maria degli Angeli church, a restaurant and snack bar. Click here for the route.

 

Fishing

If you want to fish, you need a permit from the age of 13.

You can purchase it in the following way:

Get 2 stamps (Marche da Bollo) at a tobacco shop. Cost about €15 each. Go to the fishing license office with these stamps. Your permit will be arranged here.

Traffic lights on the right towards Menaggio. T.h.v. the Lago di Piano is a large wooden chalet on your right. This is the fishing license office.
